We offer 3 rooms to let in our traditional Lakeland Cottage in the village of Clifton, just a few minutes from the M6 & A66, but perfectly placed to explore the Northern Lake District & Pennines).
Central heating, double glazing and a recent refurbishment provide a private, pleasant and comfortable place to stay.
There is free on the road parking just outside. The room includes a kettle, a mini fridge, a small dining table and chairs, crockery, cutlery and cups and glasses.
Location
The village of Clifton is near Penrith, 10 minutes drive from Ullswater and numerous classic walking, cycling and trail running routes. Although not as famous as other Cumbrian lakes such as Windermere, Ullswater is one of most impressive of all the Lakes. It offers Steamer boat tours, Aira Force waterfall, and walks for all abilities, including of course Helvellyn!
Lowther Castle and Askham Hall (in the very pretty village of Askham) are both a 10 min drive away and the market town of Penrith, is also a 10 min drive northwards.
You can also drive to Keswick in 25 minutes or Kendal in 40 minutes. The Eden Valley also features some beautiful hidden gems such as the picturesque villages of Morland, Crosby Ravensworth & Dufton.
