Aira Force & Gowbarrow Fell
This Aira Force Walk passes through woodland with ferns and evergreen specimen conifers to the waterfall itself. You then emerge from the confines of the gorge to enjoy expansive views over Ullswater from the summit of Gowbarrow.
7km with 400m of ascent on easy paths.
There is a National Trust car park at the start.
Heughscar Hill From Roehead
Heughscar Hill offers a nice easy walk which offers excellent view down Ullswater
4km with 160m ascent on easy paths.
The is free parking at the start although this can get busy. You can also walk up via a slightly longer route from the free car park in Askham Village (by Askham Hall)
