A stone built 4 bedroom Lakeland cottage in the village of Clifton near Penrith. Central heating, double glazing and a recent refurbishment provide a private, pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Our home has (distant) views of the Lake District fells and the Pennines (weather permitting!). We are 10 minutes drive from Ullswater and numerous classic walking, cycling and trail running routes. Although not as famous as other Cumbrian lakes such as Windermere, Ullswater is one of most impressive of all the Lakes. It offers Steamer boat tours, Aira Force waterfall, and walks for all abilities, including of course Helvellyn!

Lowther Castle and Askham Hall (in the very pretty village of Askham) are both a 10 min drive away and the market town of Penrith, is also a 10 min drive northwards.

You can also drive to Keswick in 25 minutes or Kendal in 40 minutes.

The Eden Valley also features some beautiful hidden gems such as the picturesque villages of Morland, Crosby Ravensworth & Dufton.
